What is French Polishing?
French polishing gives your wooden furniture a very high gloss finish. It can really help to bring out the deep tones in wood. Lots of thin layers of shellac dissolved in alcohol is rubbed onto the wood, using special cloth. There are other types of finishes you can use, including stains to help bring out the best in the wood. It can be damaged easier than a varnish – through heat etc, however, it can be easier to repair. French polishing can be done on many different types of wood, mahogany, walnut and so on. Once we have finished our work, we can also offer expert advice on how to care for your piece and make it last as long as possible.
We are passionate about our work and give our full attention to each and every job we undertake. Our work is known around Ireland and we have worked on some prestigious jobs and have featured in the press.
